Bagalabath


Bagalabath,white rice mashed with plain yogurt and topped with pomegranates. Variation of curd rice which is popular in South India served mostly with pickle.

Ingredients:
  • Raw rice - 1
  • Curd/plain yogurt- 2 cups
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Pomegranates - 1 cup
  • Salt
Method:
  1. Soak rice in water for 15 mins, wash and rinse
  2. Pressure cook with 3 cups of water for 3 whistles
  3. Blend rice, milk, yogurt and butter to fine paste
  4. Add salt to taste
  5. Mix rice paste with pomegranates and serve
Variation: Thin sliced apple, green grapes can also be used for topping
