Methi Mutter Malai

Methi Mutter Malai, fresh fenugreek leafs and green peas cooked in evaporated milk or cream. 


Serves:4

Ingredients:
  • Fresh green peas/mutter - 2 cups
  • Fenugreek/Methi leafs - 1 bunch
  • Evaporated milk - 1 can
  • Yogurt/Curd - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Amchoor[Dry Mango] powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil
  • Salt
Method:

  1. Wash fenugreek leafs, chop it finely, sprinkle salt and setaside for 30 mins and then squeeze out water to reduce its bitterness
  2. Heat pan, add oil, cumin seeds, slit green chilly, chopped ginger, onion and cook till onion is translucent
  3. Add chopped tomato, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala and cook till oil seperates
  4. Add boiled peas, chopped fenugreek leaves with little water and cook for few mins
  5. Add beaten yogurt, sugar and amchoor powder and cook for a min
  6. Add evaporated milk, bring to a boil and switch off stove
  7. Serve hot with roti or paratha
