Chilly Parotta

Chilly Parotta made from left over parotta, fried with spices and mixed with spicy creamy sauce which is very popular in South Indian restaurants. Click here for parotta recipe.

Serves:2

Ingredients:
  • Parotta -3
  • Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew - 10
  • Maida - 1/4 cup
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Chicken masala - 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Food color - pinch (optional)
  • Cinnamon - 1 piece
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cardamom - 1
  • Curry leaves - 2 strand
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Cilantro - handful

Method:



  1. Soak poppy seeds in water for 5 mins before grinding. 
  2. Grind coconut, poppy seeds and cashew to fine paste.
  3. Mix maida, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp chicken masala, food color and 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste to a batter consistency
  4. Cut parotta into small pieces, dip in batter, shallow fry and set it aside.
  5. Heat pan, add oil and fry cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, curry leaves,onion,green chilly and tomato
  6. Add 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp garam masala and 1/2 tsp chicken masala and fry till raw smell subsides
  7. Add 1/2 cup water, salt to taste and allow it to boil
  8. Add ground coconut paste and cook for couple of mins
  9. Add fried parotta pieces and mix well
  10. Garnish with cilantro and server with raita
