Oats Neer Urundai

Oats Neer Urundai / Oats dumpling is a healthy snack made with oats, semolina, vegetables and steam cooked.


Ingredients:
  • Plain Oats - 1/2 cup
  • Fine Rava/Semolina - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1/2
  • Green Chilly -2
  • Carrot - 1/2
  • Beans - 5
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dhal - 1 tsp
  • Hing/Asafoetieda - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt
Method:
  1. Powder oats in a blender and mix it with Rava/Semolina and 2 cups of water
  2. Add salt to taste
  3. Finely chop green chilly, onion, carrot and beans
  4. Heat pan, add oil and saute green chilly, onion, carrot and beans
  5. When its half done add oats mix, cook till water is observed and it comes to dough consistency
  6. Remove from heat and allow it to cool down till it can be handled with hand
  7. Make it into small lime size balls and steam cook for 5 mins
  8. Heat pan, add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dhal, hing, turmeric powder and pepper powder
  9. Add steamed balls to the pan and toss it gently to coat evenly on the balls.
  10. Serve hot as an appetizer

    1. Hi friend ...you have a nice blog n i liked this recipe particularly....i like steamed snacks n make such snacks with pulse mixes , this one looks great.
