Potato Bajji


Potato Bajji / Aloo Bhaji/ Indian-style Potato wedges. Simply irresistible and popular South-Indian street food that is incredibly easy to prepare at home.

Serves:4


Ingredients : 
  • Potato (big) - 1
  • Oil - for deep frying
Batter:
  • Besan / ChickPea flour - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • Maida / All purpose flour - 1/4 cup
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafotieda - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Food color  - pinch (optional)
  • Water - 1 cup
Method:


  1. Mix all ingredients listed under "Batter" and keep it aside
  2. Cut potato into thin slices
  3. Heat oil in a pan 
  4. Dip sliced potato in batter
  5. Fry till its golden brown on both sides
  6. Serve hot with Tomato chilly ketchup
