Jalapeno Tomato Kuzhambu

Jalapeno Tomato Kuzhambu, simple, tangy and spicy gravy that goes well with Idly or dosa.

Serves:2


Ingredients:
  • Tomato - 3
  • Jalapeno - 2
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Asafoetida - pinch
  • Curry leaves - 1 strand
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Sambar powder - 1 tbsp
  • Cilantro - handful
  • Salt
  • Coconut milk - 1/2 cup
Method:
  1. Blanch tomato and grind to puree without adding water
  2. Heat pan, add oil and fry cumin seeds, curry leaves , de-seeded chopped jalapeno and ginger
  3. Add ground tomato puree 
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, sambar powder and cook till raw smell subsides
  5. Add coconut milk and salt to taste
  6. Allow for a boil and garnish with cilantro
  7. Serve with Idly or dosa
